The chimney on the Dart Mill was demolished by Fred Dibnah in the mid sixties, he was not very well known outside of Bolton then. I watched with a group of friends from the opposite bank of the river, as the chimney smoked for its final finarly, as it secomed to the raging fire around it's base the crack was heard and Fred blue his horn a cloud of dust and that was that. |
