Havelock House, built by Charles Bayer, owner of Tewkesbury Lodge, a large mansion of 1855 on the crest of the hill behind. He built Havelock House for his daughter and further along Honor Oak Road, he built Hamilton Lodge for his son.

Surrey Mount, once home of Frederick Horniman, founder of the Museum. Damaged in the WW2, the house was demolished in 1960 and its site and gardens incorporated in the public park.
