Eureka This is now the site of Junction 1 of the M40. At the time of the photo Western Avenue had recently been completed. View is looking north west. It is part of a small group of photos covering the development of Western Avenue. |

In 1946 (the time of the photo) this chunk of the Western Avenue had NOT been completed, in as far as it was only a single carriageway, the uncompleted half can be seen in all relevant photos. It stayed that way for several years |
