Stondon Hall and Stondon Hall Farm Stondon Hall is Grade 2 listed. English Heritage Building ID: 373814 House. C16, C17, C20. Timber-framed, rendered, brick rendered, peg-tile roof. Plan: principal range with S cross-wing extending from back to front and N. Cross-wing projecting to W, C19 and C20 lean-to additions at back.

Stondon Place Grade 2 listed building - English Heritage Building ID: 373806 House. 1706, rebuilt after a fire of 1877, reputedly with the old material. For Richard How. Red brick, Flemish bond, peg-tile roof. L-plan. 2 storeys. S front to garden has 2 outer semicircular brick bays and plain central section between. Stondon Place was the home of the famous musician, William Byrd between 1593 and his death in 1623. He lived in a house on the site which was replaced in 1706. Byrd was a recusant and was buried in Stondon Massey church nearby. The Georgian house became the second manor house of Stondon Massey after Stondon Hall became a farmhouse and remained as such until 1861.
