In 1929 this bakers was George Crawfords bakery at 163 Birkbeck road. In 1935 it was taken over by Henry Lewis (my Great Grandfather) it remained in the family until the 1990s

This house was called 'Morningside' and was No.1 Highview Road. There were six houses on each side of the street in Highview Road. Now, some of the larger houses have been demolished for flats. On this site is now Avon Court which was built around late 1960's early 1970's. It is a block of six flats. The flats have gardens on all but one side, this shows the size of the original plot at 'Morningside'. Flats in this block, as at 2014, sell for in excess of 200K. This gives you an idea of what a popular place Sidcup is.

This is Waring Park, land donated to the People of Sidcup by Lord Waring who resided in Foots Cray Place, now Foots Cray Meadows. In this picture, it looks like the Park is under construction. It used to have a mini railway that children could take rides on. It backs onto Birchwood Avenue on one side, Faraday Avenue on the South and here in Lansdown Road.
