Abbot's Wood - built by the Furness Railway for James Ramsden, sometime railway Locomotive Superintendent, Secretary, General MAnager and Managing Director, also first Mayor of Barrow. Subsequently occupied by his son Frederick, also FR officer and later director. Became FR shareholders Director of the LMS.

Furness Abbey station on the Furness Railway between Carnforth and Barrow. This rather elaborate country style station is now closed, but the line is still open.
