This area was to be the rolling stock depot for the projected 'new works' extension of the Northern Line from Edgware to Bushey Heath. Development of the project was suspended during WW2 and the site was used by a consortium of companies as an aircraft factory, building Handley Page Halifax bombers. After the war, the Northern Line project was abandoned and the site was developed by London Transport in 1952 as the Aldenham Bus Overhaul Works. The site is now a business park.

Initial groundwork for the Northern Line extension from Edgware to Bushey Heath. The project was abandoned after WW2 due to cost cutting and development restrictions imposed by the new 'green belt'.
