Blocks with outside balconies whereby beds could be wheeled onto the balcony for the patient to get the fresh airs - deemed at hat time to be necessary - and usually effective !

"The Home", Overchurch. Originally the home of Mr Paul (owner of flour mills/"Homepride") who was a major figure in the 1925 Boy Scouts World Jamboree and created swimming pool/scouts camp ground. He sold it on to a religious organisation who ran a Children's Home for displaced children during/after WW2. Demolished in the 50s. (Much was owed to Nancy Kinmont, e.g. see blog on internet, specifically "chapter 8: Blue birds over...")
