I think this is the "tump" described above Bwlch y Garn where Zephaniah Williams addressed the crowds of Chartists form Nantyglo, Blaina and Ebbw Vale in the rainy evening that they set off for Newport, they walked down to the valley floor, stopped the blast at Penycae furnaces, assaulted William Adams in his home and then walked down part the Victoria ironworks which was built and being commissioned following the tramroads to the port. In later years the area had a rifle range for the Brynmawr and Nantyglo militia. '
