' Point No 5 on the Town Trail - The Quaker Bridge Originally built around 1887 the bridge was renewed in 1984. Upstream is the railway viaduct over the river - not the original. First built in 1865 and now part of "The Greenway" cycle and footpath.Downstream you can see the Cocker Bridge on Main Street, the Town Hall (formerly a Methodist Church); the former hat factory site in front (white gable by bridge); former Croft Mill (textiles) now flats with balconies on the left. A "back lane" of the medieval town is across the bridge now known as South Street. '
