LNWR Webb Northlight Engine Shed.
4 Road shed with workshops and outbuildings at the back of the shed. According to 1/2500 OS maps at some point in its history only 3 of the four roads had track going into them.
However study of this photo suggests there might still be some track present in the nearest road ? - The other roads would have had track at this date but seem to be covered in wood stockpiles since this building is now in use by a wood merchant.
The large chimney is for a sand drying furnace.
This engine shed was closed in 1931 and engines were then supplied to operate the line by the engine shed at Coalville Town.
This building survived with a modified roof until quite recently - when demolished it might have been the last surviving engine shed of this once prolific type ? '
