' 1952: Perched just off the Ross Road - The Redhill Hostel complex, was originally built to house, feed and entertain up to 1000 workers from the local Rotherwas Munitions factory, in later years it became best remembered as the home of The Hillside Ballroom, or to my generation "The Hostel" but is was where, in the 50's 60's and 70's many of the UK's top bands played at the weekly shows! Sadly the music has long since died, it's now a housing estate. '
