Great Western Railway (GWR) station "Terminus" of the line from Corwen etc. Even after the Cambrian Railways became part of the GWR, both sides of the station retained their own signal boxes. These were still there until the buildings were demolished to make way for the Dolgellau by-pass.
The Cambrian line was a branch from the coast line at Barmouth Junction, later renamed Morfa Mawddach.
The attached photo shows the GWR station after closure. '
