Stechford Railway Station
Built 1844 - At the junction between the Birmingham to Coventry line and the predominantly freight-only Stechford-Aston spur.
The name Stechford may be a reference to the Stich or Stitch, a local tributary of the River Cole, although the Stitch is now entirely under culverts. The name Stechford was unknown until the construction of Stechford Station in 1844
On 28 February 1967, Stechford station was the scene of a train collision which killed nine people and injured 16
