Braemar Road.
My grandparents lived in Braemar Road until the house was bombed in 1940. They emerged from their Andersen shelter to find their 'best bed' had descended from their bedroom to the parlour below. Apparently the bed was not seriously damaged, I remember them still using it in the 1960s. The house however was a write-off.
The photo seems to show temporary housing on the cleared bomb sites. These were a semi-circular type constructed in the same way as Nissan huts. Less sophisticated than the famous 'prefabs' which lasted very much longer.
