This derelict land became Hebburn Urban District rubbish tips. In the 50s when I was young it was a filthy smoky rat infested area. Then all the years of rubbish was buried & landscaped & now it is a beautiful riverside area. Pic is from my www.oldtyneside.co.uk site '
