' The lack of wagons seems to suggest the siding is out of used. The more so as some construction work seems to be taking place, with materials spread over the track.... or are the tracks being lifted? There is clearly some activity going on. It was not normal to bother with lifting disused track in private sidings. Just covering them up to make more space for road vehicles was the usual option. By this time firm like brick makers were switching to road transport with the need to easily reach a more distributed market and the availability of more powerful trucks, often ex-army equipment from the recent war.
