' There was an old ferryman operating a wooden rowboat through the 50s when I was a child. My parents used to walk me down to this spot to take the short ride across and also back later. On the factory side there was a long, narrow, alleyway leading to the road. The ferryman lived down there under what appeared to be a half-collapsed thick concrete bunker. I recall a spring of fresh water issuing from a rock next to it. '
