This factory was known as 'The Bauxite' & run by a company producing Aluminium. As a little lad in the 50s the factory had long gone but it had left behind a mess. There were large mounds of reddish orange bauxite waste & it covered quite an area of land but at least it was fenced off. We kept off it because it got on your clothes & shoes & stained your skin orange. '
