' Ludlow Castle, probably 11th C. Grade 1 listed; Scheduled Ancient Monument. Privately owned with public access. Grounds used for annual Ludlow Show. The Earls of Powis purchased the castle from the Crown in 1811. The round structure just visible inside the castle walls to the right is the circular nave of an old chapel (the chancel no longer exists) - once connected to the castle by an elevated walkway. '
