' Buckley Wells Sheds - now an independent locomotive works dealing with preserved steam engines. The railway line passes out of the top of the picture - this was the main line to Manchester Victoria, which used a rare early electric "side contact" third rail. The Bury station was "Bury Bolton Street" still used by the ELR. When this line needed replacing, it was recommissioned as a light rail line (Metrolink). There was a new terminus and a new bus station, not in this image, but this line still joined with the tram line. This line is now part of the preserved East Lancashire Railway. '
