' General Motors Frigidaire plant. This building was originally used by the Aircraft Manufacturing Co during WW1. The company folded in 1922 and the plant was taken over by GM for the assembly of Chevrolet trucks. That operation was moved to Luton in 1930, becoming Bedford Trucks, and freeing the Hendon plant for the manufacture of GM's Frigidaire refrigerators. '
