This railway line runs from Manchester and Bury to the left on to Helmshore, Accrington and Colne to the right. In 1946 there was a regular train from Helmshore to London Euston.
The line was closed in 1966. For a short period the East Lancashire Railway used a short stretch in Helmshore but abandoned that when the line to Rawtenstall became available. '
