' Great Hall of Wyggeston Boys School. The rest of the later 1930s buildings of the school were built shortly afterwards. Previously, the school had (along with the University College) occupied the buildings of the former County Lunatic Asylum, which had served during the Great War as HQ of the 5th Northern General [military] Hospital. The shed-like structures were built for that hospital. Those buildings of the asylum/hospital which still survive are now part of the University and Wyggestion QEII College. '
