' 6.6 kv transmission line from the LYR Power Station at Clifton Junction (just off the picture to the left) taking current four miles to their substation at Radcliffe, where it was converted to 1200 volts DC to supply the electric trains on the Manchester Victoria to Bury line. Clifton Power Station was closed in 1933 after which the supply came from Outwood Power Station via the National Grid. '
