' Original portion of High Street station with twin train shed roofing. The station was rebuilt in the 1880s, when a seond train shed was built alongside the original one of 1850, but the platforms were not extended at that time. The platforms were extended between 1925 and 1927 when new "umbrella" roofing was provided, but the old train sheds were retained for the time being. They were dismantled in the early 1930s, when the new frontage block of Portland stone was built and opened in 1934. '
