' The Chantry, 49 High St was designed by the architect John Birch. A previous house was pulled down, and The Chantry was built between 1872-1874. It was paid form by the Rev Ravenshaw. It features in the book 'Country Architecture', published in 1874. It has ' three bedrooms, a servant's bedroom wc and linen store'. It must have had one of the first plumbed in lavatories in the country. It's extensive grounds now contain many houses. '
