' Aircraft engine test facility, operated by de Havilland Aircraft Company. In the main Rolls Royce Merlin engines were reconditioned and tested here during WW2. The site was taken over by the Danziger Brothers ,in the 1950s to become the New Elstree Studios. The site was taken over by RTZ Metals in 1965, and is now a business park called The Waterfront. '
