' Paynes Paper Wharf. Constructed as John Penn's boiler works, but rumour has it that this building (with its arched facade on the riverside) was originally intended to be a terminus building for a railway branch line to a ferry service that never happened. This wharf was to later handle newsprint and general cargoes, becoming an egg breaking factory in the mid to late twentieth century. Sold to Hays for document storage in 1984 and in 2007 demolished except for the outer walls before eventually being rebuilt as flats in 2013. '
