' Crichton Hall. A former psychiatric hospital established in 1839. Later it formed part of the NHS but was found to be surplus to requirements in the 1980s, requiring repairs. However it was used by the NHS as an administrative center until 2016 since when it has stood empty. There have been plans to develop it as a 90-bed luxury hotel.
