Walker Naval Yard on the river bend opposite Bill Quay.
In WW2 my aunt Margaret was a widow living in Walker and at the time the Aircraft Carrier HMS Victorious was being built. A RN Officer was billeted at her house and they eventually fell for each other and got married.
He was my Uncle Jim Gardner and was on Victorious when it was involved with the sinking of the German Battleship 'Bismark'. '
