' It is amazing ( to me at least ) how much interest an aeroplane ,making circuits around High and Low level Stations, and J.N Millers Flour Mill in 1938, caused, everyone who can see the plane is standing looking up at it, as it circuits. The signal box operators, workmen at factories and open places, they all stop and look up, sensing perhaps even in 1938, that this was not a casual fly past.. It may be that an aeroplane was a rare visitor in 1938, hence the interest.. The future would see many more, and not as friendly as this one, and folks would be hiding as they came. '
