This is not Fairfax Road but the back entry to the properties on Fairfax Road between Wallis Street and Barrow Rd. The last two mentioned have since disappeared as a result of modern redevelopment, as have the properties, but can be identified on O.S. Lancashire XCVI. SW, 1938 revision, published 1946, which shows the back entry in question. '
