Trams passing the entrance to the London County Council Tramways Charlton Repair Depot [CRD] which in a few weeks (July 1933) would belong to the LTPB becoming the locality where all of London's trams would come for regular overhauls, maintenance, reconstruction and repaints. The CRD was ceremonially opened on 5th March 1909 but needed a short extention of 308 yards to connect it to the network which had opened on 18th June 1906 to the Blackwall tunnel. This extention opened on 22nd July 1909. After many problems the LCCT were able to link up of route between Greenwich and Beresford Square along the Woolwich Road finally occuring on 5th April 1914. '
