' Trolleybuses arriving at the Holborn Circus terminus. Only one of three places that trolleybuses entered the City of London, very restrictive operating rules applied here. As there were no places where turning circles could be erected it was decided to create a "loop" conecting the tram terminals in Gray's Inn Road and Farringdon Road. Trolleybuses numbered in 5xx series ran from Kings cross via Gray's Inn Road in an anticlockwise direction, while trolleybuses numbered in the 6xx series ran from Kings Cross in a clockwise direction down Farringdon Road. There were no trolleybus stops in High Holborn and standing time was not allowed.Trolleybuses ran to/from here from 6th March 1938 to 7th November 1961. Ten routes passed this point - 513 / 613 Hampstead, 517 / 617 Finchley, 521 / 621 Finchley [Manor House , Wood Green], 543 / 643 Wood Green, 565 Barking, 659 Waltham Cross. '
