' St George's Church, Stockport. Built by a local official when the nearby St Thomas Church Stockport would not baptise him. This magnificent church is not Stockport Parish Church as some assume (that is the ancient St Mary's). As this is on the South side of the Mersey it is under Chester diocese. '
