' The Pontypridd, Caerphilly and Newport Railway. This raiway used the Taff Vale Railway lines above Pontypridd but owned this section of line to Penrhos where it connected with the Rhymney Railway. The line closed to passengers in 1962, and to freight from 1965. This part of the line from Upper Boat to Pontypridd now forms the dual carriageway of the A470 road. A station, named Upper Boat Halt, existed here, was opened in 1904 and closed in 1956. '
