The ground floor of this end of terrace terrace house would serve for many years as Stanford's (a minute grocery and sweet shop). It was clearly unsuited as a retail premises and I can only think that change-of-use planning permission was either not necessary at the time, or else no permission was applied for. In any event, the bulk of their business would have been from schoolchildren on their way home from the nearby Kingsbury County Grammar School.
The house now serves its intended purpose as a residential only property. '
