' Midland Railway No. 1 grain warehouse (Brook Street) was built in the early 1890's. It was rented by Bass. The capstans in it's sidings for moving wagons were operated by hydraulic pressure from the Midland's hydraulic power house situated just north of the No. 4 grain/bonded warehouse. Bass paid the Midland for the use of this power. '
