' The old British Legion Club, this was built mid 18th Century and was also the Home to Benjamin Pierpoint who was the 3rd Mayor of Warrington. It was originally known as the Stone house for the obvious reason that it was built of stone blocks. I lived in the building as a child growing up between 1858 and 1971 my Father was the Steward. '
