The Rayners Hotel would appear on this site in 1937. Now listed Grade 2, it has been closed and unoccupied for a few years, awaiting a new use and is currently in quite a poor state.
Edit: It seems to have been acquired for use as an education centre for an evangelical Christian organisation. It's a shame that it could not have found a use as a hospitality venue of some sort, but at least it will no longer be empty and decaying. '
