St Albans North signal box. Controlled the north end of the City station until 1970, after the closure of the goods yard several years beforehand. Control of the whole stationwas then moved to St Albans South box. That in turn was closed in December 1979 when the West Hampstead Power Signalling box took over with modern colour light signals. The South box lay derelict for over 20 years but was restored by a charitable Trust and is now open on a regular basis to the public (when Covid-19 isn't around!). See https://sigbox.co.uk for details.
