This factory was acquired in the 1920s by The Automatic Electric Co Ltd to manufacture electric domestic appliances under the trade name "XCEL", part of "Elexcel Ltd", part of "The Automatic Electric Co" which became "The Automatic Telephone & Electric Co", finally ATTE/Plessys Ltd in Edge Lane.
After WW2,Joseph Lucas Industries set up the Lucas Gas Turbine Equipment factory making precision fuel & control systems for most Rolls Royce jet engines including those for Concorde, & the RB211 engine.
Re-named Lucas Aerospace, then moved to Wilson Road Huyton in the 1980s.
Finally, was re-developed for housing as present. '
