' St Chad's Church (listed Grade 2 - English Heritage Building ID: 82655) was damaged during the civil war (1646) and by the early 18th century was in a dilapidated condition. Rebuilt 1714 and again in 1845. It is 30m North of the Hall. Private chapel, formerly parish church. Also a scheduled Ancient Monument. '
