' Warbreck railway station.The station was built in 1928 to serve the expanding residential area near to Walton Vale. It could only gain significant business from summer season excursions to Ainsdale, Birkdale and Southport. From 05/01/52 the line serving the former two locations, and Southport Lord Street closed. A lightly used all stations passenger service starting at Aintree Central, routed mainly to Manchester, continued until 1960 when it was ended - Special Grand National excursion trains to Aintree Central ran through the station until 1966 '
