Known locally as the Bluebell wood,.An old coppice wood of Hazel, apart from the Bluebells, Adoxa moschatellina , Anemone nemorosa,Viola odorata and Lamiastrum galeobodon used to be found there, indicators of old woodland. Some of the trunks of the very old Hazel trees had assumed a gnarled and grotesque appearance, similar of an illustration by Arthur Rackham, sadly last time I looked it seems a lot of the older trees had been grubbed out.
