' Boys' Grammar School founded by the Will of Sir Richard Fulmerston 1566/7. The original school hall was built early in 17thC and was partly rebuilt and altered in 1879. Ruins in the grounds of the school are the remains of a Dominican Priory founded in 14thC. Several other religious buildings once stood on the site, a pre-Conquest parish church (St Mary-the-Great) and a parish church dedicated to the Holy Trinity. '
