The Town Bridge once known as the Christopher Bridge, and the Great Bridge. Thetford's several bridges were subject to a toll into the 1880s. Present bridge was built in 1829 replacing a wooden bridge that was built in 1794. It is not known when a bridge was first built at this ancient river crossing. '
