E Block. This building was destroyed by fire caused by Enemy Bombing on 22 November 1940. In the same month a high explosive bomb detonated on the boundary of the site and Fordrough Lane, demolishing a section of the boundary wall. The explosive blast penetrated the basement area of the Factory building where men were taking shelter from the Air Raid. There was one fatality. '
