' Covered shelter here with a drinking fountain next to it if I remember correctly. Spent many happy hours in this park in the 1950s. Great for football (jumpers for goalposts), cricket, tennis (hard and grass courts)- and also with a putting course. Nice cafe as well. There were park keepers in uniform in those days and the whole place was well cared for. '
